Information Management (IM) and eHealth

Overview
The Division pro-actively participates in Information Management (IM) and eHealth activities that will enable GPs and practice staff to provide quality health care to the community. In 2009, the Division aims to deliver relevant technologies to its members. Current and planned initiatives/efforts will focus on three different areas. Please click on specific topics for further information.

Quality Patient Care through Information Analysis aims to empower practices with the right information at the right time. High risk patients can be targeted and preventive care can take place. This activity is conducted with the aid of a data extraction tool which is complimentary to interested practices. Click HERE to read more about Data Quality.

Connecting Health Care Professionals allows GPs to communicate with other health care professionals in Queensland electronically in a secure manner. This statewide initiative called iHealth care is implemented by local QLD Divisions through the coordination of GP QLD. This service is complimentary to all GPs. Other health care professionals are also invited to try this complimentary service out. This invitation is valid till 2010.
