Mental Health

The Capricornia Division of General Practice, along with many other Queensland Divisions, employs a Community Support Worker to deliver the Mental Health Support for Drought Affected Communities Initiative, funded by the Government Department of Health and Ageing. A significant part of this role, in collaboration with the Australian General Practice Network and beyondblue: the national depression initiative is to provide links to community outreach and crisis counselling services for drought affected rural and remote areas, this clearly includes bushfires.

In response to the recent bushfires, please find below the link to an article aimed at supporting those affected by natural disaster; this can also be applied to severe storms and flooding.
