  • Carers Australia - A non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of carers. 
  • beyondblue - The National Depression Initiative. 
  • Checklists to identify depression and anxiety (by beyondblue) - This is the checklist used by doctors to determine whether a person has major depression. 
  • Multicultural Mental Health Australia - National program in multicultural mental health for Australians from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Includes information available in many languages. 
  • One in Five - Generates awareness and funding for programs dedicated to the prevention and treatment of mental illness. Includes links to consumer help sites.

Anxiety

  • The Panic Anxiety Disorder Association Inc. - The Panic Anxiety Disorder Association Inc (PADA Inc) was incorporated in South Australia in June 1987. PADA Inc are a consumer organisation representing and assisting people who have a panic/anxiety disorder.  
  • Anxiety Network Australia - Information, education and support resource for the people with anxiety disorders, their carers, relatives and health practitioners.

Depression 

  • Depression Australia - This site includes information on professional counselling services in your area. 
  • Depression Doctor - This site includes nformation on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of depression.
  • depressioNet - Resource for people living with depression, their families and friends.

Mental Health & Alcohol 

  • Australian Drug Information Network - Features links to a range of sites, including alcohol and drug services in Australia. 
  • Test Your Drinking (by Alcohol Advisory Council of New Zealand) - As alcohol has a different effect on people, depending on things like gender, weight and age, the information you enter here is used to tailor the response to you personally. 
  • The Right Mix - Australian Government Department of Veterans' Affairs website where consumers can self-assess their drinking.
